Threshold 9, ROBOTS

Threshold 9...Robots
Ingredients    + GoldilocksConditions   = Complexity
Technology      Smart people and the       Robots
                         right technology

Complexity Questions

1. Population decay
2. It'll be good for humans, as well as the biosphere, because the world's population will decrease and resources will be plentiful and there will be less pollution from less people.
3. I'm most hopeful for me not having to go threw a United States invasion. I'm most fearful of a country starting a nuclear war.
4. Yes, along with collaboration.  I hope it will result in less wars and countries helping each other with resources.

Visions Of The Future

Henry Louis
I agree with us all being members of one family, the human community. We all come from the same place.

Sanjayan
I agree with specialization coming from agriculture and settlements of cities. It made sense to me when the man talked about how the person who invented the wheel no longer had to worry about getting good because he focused on the wheel and traded the wheel for food, like what most people do today.

Bill Gates
I am also excited about the futures that's about to come and what new inventions are going to be made.

The developed world keeps getting bigger
I agree with him that we can stop population growth by improving children survival and getting all the population of humans out of poverty.

Unit 10-Initial Thoughts

I believe the earth will be very complex and united in 100 years. I think there will be more poorer countries, also with less countries because the major power countries will take in other countries that can't provide for themselves. I bet the population will be a couple billion more then it is today, with the population growth slowing down dramatically. The physical Earth will look the same. I bet there will be more islands from land breaking apart and the fault line in California will break off. Technology will change and make most activities faster and less hands on. Like agriculture, agriculture will be done mostly by machines and all the farmers will have to do is put in coordinates for where the machines to farm. I also think medical care will be improved by everyone getting a "bar code" tattoo at the bottom of their foot at a certain age that will have all their information on it, as well as drivers license and other documentation. I think all of this because I don't believe our world is at a revolution stop. I think we will keep improving at everything we do.

Text 13

I believe that agriculturist had a better way of living. I think this because the hunter gathers had to work harder for their food and they didn't have  an as balanced diet. The agriculturist had plenty of food for themselves and for their towns which allowed for more jobs. Agriculture allowed for there to be towns and for people to live together. Agriculture lets people have more of a variety of food and a healthy diet. With there being less people having to gather food there were more people doing different jobs which led to entertainment and stores.

Lee and Sahlins believe that the hunter gathers had it easier then we thought and they weren't poor. The hunter-gathers only got what was necessary to live which gave them less worries and complications then future generations. I agree and understand what they were saying, but I still think farmers had a better and easier life. I understand what they are saying because when you are just trying to get food and supplies for survival you don't have anymore needs or wants.

Text 10

I thought that the text should tell more about what the Kitavan people ate. These people must have a very healthy duet with very low fat to have small waists. I don't get how this island is so much different then the rest of Papua New Guinea. I think my understanding of the quality has become more complex by seeing that a group of people are healthier and more fit from their diet.
